Kia ora koutou,
Welcome to this week’s edition of the Friday 5! Where we will celebrate all the wonderful on-going work at the NRHCC.
1. Last week, Dr Christine McIntosh spoke to Seven Sharp about the people presenting to emergency departments with Covid symptoms and how a third of those people haven't been tested. Many of these are the elderly or at-risk, with delayed treatment putting them at an even greater threat. This is why it is more important than ever to protect yourself and whanau by getting your Cvod-19 booster and flu immunisation

2. Saturday 21 May was a day of celebration for the Niuean community who ran their own vaccination event supported by NRHCC. The community felt empowered to mobilize their own Niue community to work on Saturday and use their own Niue language when speaking with their people.

3. A huge shoutout to the Te Whānau O Waipareira who hit their 100,000 doses administered milestone. Well done on all your hard work over the past months to help protect our Whanau and keep them safe from Covid-19!

4. With the relaxing of COVID-19 control measures and the reopening of borders, we’re expecting a resurgence of flu in 2022. We need more participants around New Zealand to help track the impact of both flu and COVID-19 in the local community. Please join by completing this link. The survey takes 20 seconds per week and helps track flu and COVID-19. The participants will receive a weekly report and a map of respiratory illness in return.
5. A big paki paki to Ruben Tasic for putting together a video montage of our wonderful Well-being Day! You can watch the video here

And finally, haere ra all our leavers this week! Leanne Kirton (Primary Care), Moses Alchalabi (IT), Prashant Agrawal and Mayur Lakhani. Thank you for all your mahi during your time at the NRHCC, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
Ngā mihi,
The PMO Team
