Kia ora koutou,
Join us in celebrating the week that was, in this week’s Friday 5:
1. New Zealand’s largest drive through vaccination centre was launched on 22nd August and so far, has administered 13,978 doses. The second of the NRHCC drive throughs went live on Wednesday 25th August at the Trust Arena and has already surpassed 2,000 vaccinations administered. Thank you to all the teams involved in the timely implementation of these new sites to get them up and running so quickly! Customer Feedback: “I took up the offer this afternoon and decided to give it a shot…..40 minutes later including wait time I’d had one of my vaccinations done.
Great team at the Airport…..professionally run and the team were very accepting and welcoming and as mentioned earlier, the queue was well managed because their processing systems were exceptional therefore the time to process was negligible”

2. Shout out to all our front line workers, General Practices, Pharmacies, DHB Colleagues and Maori & Pacific Providers for all your amazing work in reaching the 1 million doses administered on Monday 23rd in Auckland Metro. We continue to have our biggest days and yesterday we administered another 26,636 doses in one day, Pai te mahi!
3. The EFKS Church in Mangere East, held their return visit to the site to administer the dose 2 vaccinations and over the two days managed to vaccinate over 760 people! A special thank you to Reverend Victor Pousei for the use of the church and engaging with our Pacific community. The Pacific Health team have also been engaging with our Pacific Leaders and hosted a few of them at NRHCC recently to discuss the Covid-19 Response for Pacific Peoples.

Hon. Minister Aupito William Sio (Minister for Pacific Peoples, Associate Minister of Health, Associate Minister of foreign affairs, Associate Minister of Education),
Rev. Taumafai Komiti and his wife, Community Leader Fuimaono Ta’ala Taliaoa Kamu and his wife, along with the NRHCC Pacific Health team, Ailsa Claire,
Matt Hannant, Pauline Sanders, and Dr Anthony Jordan.
4. Our General Practice sites in Auckland Metro have hit their 200,000 doses administered milestone, this accounts for 21% of the total programme doses administered. We have a total of 78 General Practices currently live with a plan to onboard another 104 in the upcoming weeks.

5. Thank you to everyone in the team for all the fantastic work and pulling together these past 2 weeks with the current outbreak everyone has adapted to an incredibly challenging environment. We’ve managed to mobilise our workforce to support the outbreak as well as reopened most of our Vaccination centres under Alert level 4 at the same time. There is a lot to be proud of and we will continue to come together and do our much-valued work to protect our community over the coming weeks.
Looking after yourselves, your colleagues and your whānau
Please ensure that you are continuing to look out for each other during this time. There are a number of ways you can do this, including:
Rostering: Please ensure you are appropriately rostering time off for everyone across your team, including planning ahead for the next few weeks. All team members should be taking at least two days off per week, ideally consecutively, to ensure you have enough time to recover. During this time you should be resting and spending time with your families, rather than checking emails or volunteering to help out with other activities.
EAP: Staff can access free, confidential counselling at any time by calling 0800 SELF HELP (0800 735 343).
Office support dog: Klaus is currently working from home but is ready to take bookings if anyone needs a cuddle from a furry friend

Please ensure that you’re getting some very much needed rest this weekend and over the days to come, continue to look after each other, your whanau and yourselves.
Have a good weekend everyone.
Ngā mihi,
The Vaxx Programme
