Welcome to this week’s edition of the Friday 5! Where we will celebrate all the wonderful on-going work at the NRHCC.


  1. Today is the last shift at the Airport for our remaining Border Healthcare workers. A huge shoutout to the team who have played a central role in preventing Covid-19 from entering the community across the border. Thank you for all your hard mahi and keeping Aotearoa safe!








2. Shout out to Te Whānau o Waipareira who featured in the Western Leader and recounted working in the Covid-19 response over the last 2 years. Te Whānau o Waipareira developed the Wai Helpline, which a is by-Māori, for Māori initiative. The service supported engaging with families directly and while they maybe providing Covid care the team can also assess what other services whānau might need.















3. Tuesday 17th May, Dr Gary Jackson, Dr Christine McIntosh and Dr Anthony Jordan sat down for a live stream with Stuff to answer readers’ questions on Covid-19, flu and RSV.







4. Yesterday the People, Culture and Wellbeing team hosted the first NRHCC Wellbeing Day! A huge thank you to the team for organising everything and all the volunteers who facilitated various activities throughout the day. Here are some photos of the different teams taking time out of their day to put their wellbeing first!


Reminder to complete the survey below by Midday 23rd Monday. You will be entered into a draw to win a $100 prezzie card. Winner will be drawn and announced at the 1:30 NRHCC All Staff Huddle on Monday 23rd May!




5. Today we celebrated the Pink Shirt day to show support to the anti-bullying cause. Well done to all the teams that took part and got involved!




And finally, haere ra to Stella McKernan from our Customer Experience Team who will be leaving the NRHCC today. Thank you for all your mahi during your time at the NRHCC, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours!
