Kia ora koutou,
Welcome to this week’s edition of the Friday 5! Where we celebrate all the wonderful on-going work at the NRHCC.
1. The Samoan Central health advisory committee event held an event in conjunction with Bader drive Doctors. The Advisory committee were able to mobilize 453 community members to come along and be vaccinated. Malo for all the support for our events from providers, community, comm’s team, and the consumer experience team who send out all our text messaging we all play a part and results are excellent!

2. The newly-opened Tāmaki Health Hab run by Ngāti Whātua Orākei, hosted the national COVID-19 media stand up on Wednesday. The event was fronted by our former Chief Clinical Officer Dr Andrew Old, now the Deputy Director General of the Public Health Agency, Dr Peter Watson interim National Medical Director Te Whatu Ora/Henalth NZ and Riana Manuel, Chief Executive of Te Aka Whai Ora/Māori Health Authority. The trio shared latest information on COVID-19 winter illnesses as well as reflected on the one year anniversary since we went into lockdown for the Delta outbreak.

3. Reminder to keep an eye out for the upcoming wellbeing events! Next week we have ‘NRHCC Kahoot Quiz’ more details to follow

4. He pai te mahi to the NRHCC Outreach team has been out and about this week supporting our vulnerable populations with opportunistic vaccinations. This week the team vaccinated some of the local dog walkers at the Domain!

5. This week marks one year since the first case of Delta was detected in Tāmaki Makaura! Since 17th August, over the last year the outbreak response has supported the delivery of 811,777 PCR tests throughout the NRHCC testing sites. At the time our border and MIQ teams were an essential part of the elimination and suppression strategy, keeping tens of thousands of cases out of the community and caring for them while they recovered. Our vaccination team have delivered over 3 Million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and our community team have constantly adapted to the changing environment and, have supported whānau through the incredibly hard work of the Māori and Pacific teams and the creation and delivery of whanau HQ. We can all feel proud that together, we have served the people of Auckland and helped lead a response to COVID-19 that has been one of the best in the world
And finally, haere ra Monique Poirier (Comms), who is moving to Waitemata in her new role as Media Manager. Thank you for all your mahi during your time at the NRHCC, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
