Kia ora koutou,
Join us in celebrating the week that was, in this week’s Friday 5:
1. The efforts of the Pacific Youth United has seen great results through 95 doses delivered, at their event on Wednesday 10th November. 84% of doses administered were to Pacific Peoples and 41 of these doses were administered to people aged between 14 & 24. Pacific People’s Minister Aupito Tofae Su'a William Sio and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern were welcomed to the vaccination centre by Pacific Youth United. A big malo to Maria Lafaele and everyone else involved in pulling this event together so quickly!

2. Following the Eden Park ‘Got Ya Dot event’ held last weekend we have successfully delivered 345 Doses! People got to enjoy the nice weather and the opportunity to go out onto the Eden Park field during their observation time, we also had satellite events held at Westlake boys, Hoani Waititi, Te Kura Kaupapa Maori a-rohe o Mangere and Kia Aroha College. Thank you to all the teams who helped make this possible and to Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei for all the mahi 😊

3. Our Outreach teams have been working hard and have so far completed 303 visits! With a total of 845 doses administered, thank you to all the kaimahi for their hard work on the streets. Here are some photos of our teams out on the street in tāmaki makaurau

4. The CBD team have been working hard on their site and have new flags around the centre to show support to the Rainbow Community and have signs up advising people about the pro-noun cards available.
The CBD site have several staff who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and they love the show of solidarity and inclusion!

5. As seen, many members of the community are proud to be vaxxed! This weekend we are due to hit 2.5 million doses in the Auckland Metro area. Thank you to everyone for the continued efforts to getting our numbers closer and closer to the 90% dose 2 Target!
And finally, some wonderful feedback from a local church who sent a small token of their appreciation to the Birkenhead Vaccination Centre:
“Could you please pass on my sincerest thanks and appreciation to the Vaccination Centre. A massive round of applause for their fabulous efforts. Not only have they managed to get thousands vaccinated over the last couple of months, but they’ve done it with an organized team, friendly helpful staff and big smiles, which made the overall experience, great. It wasn’t until I had been to other vax centres that I realised how good it was at Highbury. All involved should feel very proud! I live in East Auckland but chose Highbury Mall as I could get the vaccination during working hours as its not far from the office and I’m on site most times anyway. My experience was great – I’m glad I chose Highbury to get vaccinated.”
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
Ngā mihi
The Vaxx team
