Kia ora koutou,

Join us in celebrating the week that was, in this week’s Friday 5:

1. Since the Booster rollout, we have administered doses across all our delivery modes and this week we hit a huge milestone with the NRHCC administering 500,000 Doses within the Auckland Metro Region. Congratulations and thank you to everyone in the programme and across the NRHCC who have made this possible!

2. Prime Minister, Jacinda Arden visited the Albany Vaccination Centre today as part of the booster vaccination promotion campaign. Albany Vaccination centre has been open since the 29th of June and to date they have administered over 74,000 doses

3. This week, as apart of our Tamariki vaccination programme, we have now successfully administered over 80,000 doses which means we have now reached 50% of the Auckland Metro 5-11 year old population.

4. In preparation of the Omicron Community Outbreak, the latest site to convert to a drive through is Orewa.

5. February is the National ‘Big Boost ‘Ministry of Health campaign which will run through to the end of the month, this promotion will aim to bring in increased protection for our whanau’s and communities in anticipation of the emerging omicron variant

And some wonderful feedback from a visitor to our Tamaki Vaccination Centre:

Kia Ora,

I wanted to send thanks for the great support we have had at the Glen Innes Vaccination Centre. My daughter is blind and autistic and the vaccination experience has been hugely stressful for her. However, thanks to the wonderful staff we have met at each of the three visits to the centre, things have gone considerably more smoothly than we had expected. Everyone we have met has been so friendly, welcoming and accepting, and for that I am most appreciative.

Today my daughter attended for her booster and once again everyone made our visit run so smoothly. Ruby welcomed us beautifully, John the vaccinator calmly dealt with us during the most stressful part of our visit. The highlight was Declan from Security who went out of his way to chat to my daughter in the observation area and really helped put her at ease. Thank you so much Declan.

In past visits we have been welcomed by the lovely Neil (twice) and also Howard in the car park - he also went out of his way to introduce himself and chat away with us so nicely. This really helped out her at ease. These are just the names we can remember and everyone has been wonderful, but these people have been memorable.

I would be grateful if my thanks could be passed on to these people, and to all the staff who have done a great job in what must often be a very stressful situation.

And a word from Matt Hannant (Director of Operations)

As of this week, Matt has now started in his new role within the NRHCC, with responsibility across all the covid-19 services (including vaccination) and the work-streams.

From Matt: “I’ve been really proud of our achievements in the past twelve months, and working with the amazing vaccination team, thank you. I look forward to working with Evette and you all during the year ahead.”

On behalf of the Programme we want to say a big Thank you to Matt! It’s been wonderful to have the opportunity to work with you and lead us throughout the entirety of the Covid-19 Vaxx Programme to date. Congratulations to Evette, who has already been providing fantastic leadership for the programme thank you, we are all super glad to have you in this role now as well as Acting Programme Director for the vaccination programme for the next few months.

And finally today is also Spencer’s last day. Spencer is moving to Wellington to start his new career as a graduate. We wish him all the best in his new role!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
