Kia ora koutou,

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Friday 5! Where we will celebrate all the wonderful on-going work at the NRHCC.

1. Wednesday 8th June the Mt Wellington Outreach team administered their first MMR vaccination! The MMR vaccine protects against 3 viral infections – measles, mumps and rubella. Just one dose of the of MMR gives you a 95% chance of being protected against the measles. The NRHCC Outreach team now offers MMR vaccine alongside HepC, RAT, Flu and Covid-19 vaccinations minimising barriers to preventative healthcare

2. This week we received some lovely feedback about our Northcote testing station:

“Just wanted to give feedback on the awesome tester at College Rd, Northcote, Auckland. ‘Aunty Pam’ was so incredible with my extremely fearful and borderline hysterical child when she needed a PCR test. The test was positive so our family went back specially to get Pam to do our 7 day test today…. All the staff at the College Rd Centre were so friendly and kind!!!!”

Since the August 2021 our Northcote testing team has provided 90,946 PCR tests and since February 2022 have given out 321,848 RATs.

3. This week our Manurewa Marae team featured in the media, owing their successful vaccination campaign to their agile and locally grown workforce. The Marae has delivered almost 60,000 vaccinations to date with 26% of doses being delivered to Māori whānau and 26% to Pacific Peoples.

4. The Meadowbank Medical centre also featured in the East and Bays Courier this week, with a piece on one of their Doctors Luke Wee. Dr Wee started running the Centre in November 2021, with a key focus of serving his multicultural community and being a connector of people. The centre is currently focussed on delivering booster doses and flu vaccinations to support the winter ahead.

5. Every Friday the Pasefika Family Health Group offer vaccinations at the Pasefika Market in Manurewa. Ngā mihi to all our providers who continue to work with our communities and remove barriers to access for whānau.

And finally, haere ra to Joe Russel in the PMO team this week! Thank you for all your mahi during your time at the NRHCC, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Ngā mihi,

The PMO Team
