Join us in celebrating the week that was, in this week’s Friday 5:

Our vaccination centres have done an amazing job at preparing for tamariki coming through the sites and adding new child-friendly spaces in the observation areas. Monday 17 was the first day of the national rollout and to date (17 – 20 Jan) Auckland metro has administered 21,943 doses, 18.11% of these doses were administered to Māori and Pacific tamariki. Ka pai to all teams involved supporting this roll out!

2. Today we are expecting ADHB to hit the 90% milestone for fully vaccinated Pacific Peoples. ADHB require 13 more Pacific people to be vaccinated today to reach this milestone! The programme priority continues to focus on our equity target of 90% fully vaccinated across our Māori and Pasifika communities

3. On Wednesday 19 January, the New Zealand Herald hosted live panel discussion featuring Dr Jin Russell, Dr Anthony Jordan and Dr Matire Harwood, offering the opportunity for people to hear from health experts and ask any questions about child Covid vaccinations in NZ. Thank you to the Comms team and everyone else involved in the preparation of this

4. Prime Minister, Jacinda Arden had her booster dose at the Tāmaki Vaccination Centre in St Johns on Monday 17 January, this was also intended to help promote booster vaccinations and was a hugely successful event support by our iwi partners Ngāti Whātua Orākei

5. Fantastic work done by the Aged Residential care services as they continue their booster rollout which will be completed by the end of January led by pharmacy providers and supported by the NRHCC outreach service.

And finally, some wonderful feedback from some clients who had been recently vaccinated recently:

“I have come to this centre (Mount Wellington) twice to see Charles for my vaccine. I would like to compliment Charles on his professional, kind and accommodating service. It was very much appreciated.

I felt very confident that he would inject my vaccine without any pain.”

“I took my 10-year-old out to the Park & Ride today. The staff were so lovely and made her feel really at ease. Super easy!”
