Kia ora koutou,

Welcome to the new edition of the Friday 5! Where we will celebrate all the wonderful on-going work at the NRHCC. For our new subscribers, please do send through any content that you are happy to share with the wider programmes so we can ensure we are including all programmes of work.

Please join us in celebrating the week that was, in this week’s Friday 5:

1. New Zealand moved to Phase 2 on Thursday 17th February, under the Phase 2 guidelines positive cases are now required to isolate for 10 days instead of 14. As a result of this MIQ was able to release 800 people on Wednesday. Ka pai to the MIQ team on all their hard mahi to make this possible!

2.The Whanau HQ model of care was established in November 2021 to enable and support those isolating at home. Thursday 10th February there was a soft launch for Primary Care and now there are over 2,000 people being managed by GPs

3. On Thursday, this week we went live on the Quality Management System (QMS);. In this phase 1 the system is being used by the Consumer Experience Team to capture and track all enquiries, compliments, complaints, and feedback for Whānau HQ. Ka pai! To all the teams involved with this roll out

4. The Ministry is launching a Māori comms campaign for boosters and 5–11-year-olds, today this launches Friday 18th February. Our Providers have also been working hard in the vaccination space and as part of our 6 school cluster events in Counties Manukau, Manurewa Marae hosted a Tamariki event where they vaccinated 474 whanau. Almost half the people vaccinated were tamariki. Pai te mahi!

5. Since Monday, the testing team has been standing up RATS distribution centres across Auckland Metro in Community Testing and Vaccination Centres. There are 9 currently live in Auckland and subsequently Auckland was the first DHB to deliver a RATS distribution centre!

Shout out to Dr Andrew Old! A medical career did not kill the television Star. Dr Andrew old took centre stage this week for his first televised interview to reinforce the messaging around testing ensuring people who need testing are the ones accessing this service to help ease demand. This was also the first NRHCC media stand-up outside one of our testing sites.

Dr Christine McIntosh also spoke on 7 Sharp this week providing information around preparing for home isolation and ensuring whanau are ready if they need to isolate.

And finally we say farewell to some of our amazing team members Sally Sodergren (Ops Lead for CMDHB), Michele Bristow (Māori Comms) and Erin Stirling (Māori Comms) We wish them all the best in their new roles!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Ngā mihi

The PMO Team
